Carolyn Carter Brown, 79, was born May 28th, 1938 in Jonesboro, Arkansas. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, September 1st, 2017.

She leaves her husband Walter E. (Buddy) Brown of Ashdown Arkansas, her children - Dean Privitt, Cindy Privitt-Cross, John Preston (Cody Carter) Privitt, Vicki Pyles (deceased) Katy Carolyn Carver, George Bustillos and Patricia Carolyn Allen, Grandchildren - Heather, Jennifer, Candice, Matthew, John Paul, Michael, Sarah, Joseph, Jessica Carolyn, John Brandon, Jennifer, Michael, Hannah, Isabella, Violet and Haidyn, 25-Great Grandchildren and 2-Great Great Grandchildren.

Carolyn was raised in Jonesboro, Arkansas at the home of her Aunt Geneva and Uncle Miller Cobb. She is preceded in death by her siblings Harvey Carter, Preston Carter and sisters Juanita Mooney and Martha Hope. She attended Walnut Ridge Southern Baptist College - Walnut Ridge, Arkansas.

Carolyn was an exceptionally gifted musician, singer and song writer. She enjoyed a life-long career as a Country Music & Southern Gospel entertainer. She was a beloved mother and grandmother. She was a dedicated Christian and loved to tell people about her faith. Carolyn never knew a stranger. Everyone was welcomed at her table. She leaves behind more friends than can be counted.

She loved and was greatly loved by her nieces and nephews. She was bright and shining, bigger than life, a star. Resilient, restless, gentle, loving, forceful, intense, fragile, reflective, graceful, compassionate, classy and wise. She threw caution to the wind and ran the race of life all out. Forged by mountain tops and low valleys, rough waters and treacherous shores, achievements and failures, revelries and regrets, repose and reflection she was a well-seasoned veteran of life with fortitude and character of the highest caliber. Simply the best!

Public visitation will be held Friday September 8, 2017 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at Madden Funeral Home 371 N 3rd St., Ashdown. Memorial service will be held Saturday September 9, 2017 at 10:00 am at Central Baptist Church 271 West Commerce Street, Ashdown.
